UPDATE: Ike has extended the offer, thanks to your feedback and support.  Ike wants to say thank you for all the kind words, and he hopes to see you soon at his place.

“I believe in the power of giving back” says Ike Shehadeh. “Mama Hope is changing the outcome for an entire community through its work, and I want to continue to support their efforts to ensure their success."

Ike’s Place first opened its door on Halloween of 2007. The man behind the sandwich, Ike Shehadeh, always puts his customer’s happiness first. That is what sets Ike’s Place aside from the rest.

When you come to Ike’s Place their goal to make you feel like the unique individual that you are. If that isn’t enough to set them aside, did I mention that the bread is baked fresh to order? And their soon to be patented “Ike’s Dirty Secret Sauce” is spread on every sandwich and baked right in the bread, and another layer is spread on afterwards to give it that extra flavor. Mmmmm… are you hungry yet?

Ike's Place is at 3489 16th street.  Be sure to stop by and enjoy the extra seating in his new larger space.  Now even more people can enjoy Ike’s Place, a new and true San Francisco tradition.

Please Note: Please wait 24 hours to redeem voucher.

Mama Hope

Ike’s Place has partnered with non-profit organization Mama Hope to complete the construction of a Children’s Center in Moshi, Tanzania. This facility will provide the children of Moshi with a roof over their heads and a safe place to sleep at night.

This children’s center will be run by Mama Hope’s partner organization Tanzania Children Concern (TCC). In 2009 Mama Hope worked with TCC to start the St. Timothy’s project in the town of Moshi. The community recognized the dire need for education programs, a youth facility and health care services in their region. From this need the St. Timothy’s project was started, and when finished will include a much needed School, Children’s Center, and community Health Clinic.

In 2010 Mama Hope opened St. Timothy’s School, which is now serving 300+ student’s yearly, allowing them the opportunity for quality education. The second phase of this project, which Ike’s Place will be contributing to, is the completion of the Children’s Center that will include living quarters for 100 children, 50 of which will be orphans.

The next phase will be a new health clinic that will distribute much needed medication for the children of St. Timothy’s and community members with HIV/AIDS including free HIV testing. The goal of the St Timothy's project will be to serve as a school, children’s facility, and community center where people can come for information, support, and health services.

Your support will allow the children of Moshi to have a proper place to live, learn, and grow!
